 Harwich Recycling

Recycling - It's easier than you think!

Think recycling is hard or confusing? Well, good news! Recycling requirements have changed over the years making it even simpler for you to take part. You no longer have to remove labels or keep track of many other recycling rules. Most items can just be dropped in the bin! 

Paper/Cardboard

  • Newspapers/inserts
  • Magazines, catalogs & phone books
  • Corrugated cardboard, flatten
  • News must be loose or tied-no bags

Glass

  • Clear, green & brown glass bottens/jars
  • Rinse clean. Labels may be left on.
  • No other glass items such as window
    glass, dishes, glasses, Pyrex, ceramics, light bulbs

Metal

  • Aluminum/tin/steel cans and lids, deposit
    and non-deposit cans, empty aerosol cans
  • Aluminum foil and pie pans
  • Rinse clean. Labels may be left on, may flatten.
  • No cans containing hazardous material or food.

Plastic

  • Plastic containers labeled
  • Clean or colored
  • Rinse clean, may flatten and remove caps
  • No plastic bags

Leaves, grass and other easily
